Marxist Critique of "Metamorphosis" By Franz Kafka
In the beginning of the story the character transforms into a bug of some kind. Mr. Kafka leaves the interpretation of what particular kind up to the reader. In doing so, I feel he leaves the door open for any interpretation, especially for the Marxist theory.
Love, love, love the images you've collected here. Awesome way of illustrating your argument about Kafka's critique of capitalist values. I'm not sure how the Scarface image fits in; there's the reference to cockroaches, but what does this add to your argument?
ReplyDeleteThe scarface thing was more just of a creative illustration. When he says "I bury those cockroaches" I was trying to connect his mentality to people that do him wrong(cockroaches) to society at large's want to do away with the people that constantly do us wrong. Bankers, Fat Cats, etc. All "cockroaches"
ReplyDeleteOkay. That makes sense. So do you see Gregor as one of the cockroaches? He's a salesman, so it may be that since he's promoting the system and trying to sale people on it, he could be.
Deletevery nice. You have an outlook on it that didn't even register to me. Great pics as well! they support your argument perfectly.
